These are the parts if they mean anything compared to previous gen:

    Transfer: VF48M
    Rear diff: BD 21

No more kdss but has front sway bar disconnect.

I have no idea if this is same/similar to previous gen in strength etc.
BD 21 is a version of the 9.5 inch Toyota diff. Same center portion than on the 70 series Cruiser. Don't think a 2 8 have enough torque to break that.

SD20 from what I find a 8 inch front with normal cut gears.

Have had a look at both the TX and VX-R at Durban North dealership. No First Editions though.

Would go for the VX-R but donít like the very small cooler box or the rear window release. Have yet to drive one though. Maybe this coming week.

    It's a pity you weren't there then.

Plus the Scorpion has round arches, the Prado not.

Please give it a rest now, what's the point wanting to be made?

Rear window release is standard on all models. It is a nice option when you parked in your garage and donít have to open the whole tailgate to access the boot I also prefer to have a smallish cooler than no cooler. I dont think itís that small.

Saw this Prado First Edition 2.8 VX-R in Prince Albert. The owner showed me around. He is obviously super happy with his purchase. Looks beautiful!

Well, as a current Prado owner I feel the looks are too generic.

SWAMBO, not exactly being a motoring expert of note, reckons this looks like a GWagon or Jimny, she doesn't like those. Especially the round light version. "What have they done to the Prado?!" Referring to the 120 off course, which we had and miss.

Removed from my shopping list then, just like the his and hers Ferrari's in Cullinan today which barely made it over the speed-humps. Won't be buying those either.

I got my TX on Saturday and did a bit of dirt around Vaalwater.
Who would you suggest for fitting a storage drawer system? Need something a bit more personalised than just the standard systems.

We went to a lodge straight from the dealer. The ride on dirt was good, but was more bumpy and rough than in the FJ, but then I noticed Toyota inflated the tyres to 2.6 bar! Will see how it runs after deflating to the recommended 2.3. Fuel consumption as per the on-board computer started as 9.6km/L and after about 200km was about 10.1km/L. Will see how it fares in the city this week.
I was worried about the engine size and performance from all the negativity in the forums but must say, it surprised me and it is definitely more responsive than the FJ. I had never driven a diesel before and was truly scared I would hate it, but so far I am happy.
