The salesman in the cape went out of his way to send him videos and photos as much as he could. The full Dekra report was also sent through.
My brother in law went there to go see the vehicle and spent almost two hours going through everything, they even allowed him to connect his Launch as long as he did not do any changes. Most of the Dekra issues were because of a battery issue and would go away by simply clearing the fault codes

I do not trust but these guys have come to the party ....big time. When we checked for vehicles by the dome we were helped when we aked and left to make up our own mind without a salesman breathing down our neck trying to make a sale.
I'm sure there are many good experiences, but there are also many bad. I just cant deny that. Would be interesting to collect the stats somehow of happy customers vs not happy customers, and compare those to reputable dealerships. Only then we'd know for sure if they are any worse than the other guys. To be fair, there are many bad experiences with normal dealers as well. WBC may not be any worse, just more popular/more volume

Lol, and after all my posts I sat next to my brother in law while he bought a 15 year old pajero unseen on auction.

Let's see how this goes when he takes delivery.

My BIL flew up to Joburg to collect the Pajero yesterday. (We are all on holiday at the coast). He drove it back down and arrived this morning.

Bought on online auction on WBC, unseen, other than a few pics and videos from the salesman. So far, it looks really good, considering what he ended up paying. Drove the 1100 km without issue. There are a few nicks and scratches, and it seems to have done a bit offroading. It also has a Brad Harrison plug, so it was probably used for camping trips.

A quick rummage through the service book and invoices shows it was bought by (probably) the second owner in 2016 in Wonderboom Pta.

The last service was done by Mitsitech. Clearly, the car was well cared for.

The Pajero is destined to be a runaround for the inlaws' beach home, launch jetski, etc. For R145k, I think it was a steal!

(PS: any chance that anyone knows this car?)
