    Thanks @DBussey. This is awesome.

May I ask what model your Yelangu gimbal is and where you got it? Prices on those seem a bit all over the place.

I cut 5 sets today. Sorry, I see there is quite a few of you. I've only responded to the DM's. I may get these bent tomorrow if I can fit this in.

Why not? Its not a direct copy, and he is not competing with them by selling a copy of their product, if anything it gives people the opportunity to go buy the original if they are so inclined.

You seem to have a negative comment in every thread I saw you posting over the past few days. I can understand the negativity, but perhaps it isn't useful to spread it around every where you go.

Have you tried the window mount available on takealot. Much easier than manufacturing your own.

Cool mount! Two observations..the Woolies bags are made from recycled PET plastic, but probably better than fabric in the long run. Look at Neoprene that has fabric on both sides (old wetsuit or similar) for the padding of the main parts, I have found that the naked stuff will tear out chunks and/or wear away quite quickly with a bit of hard work, more so with age.

I had it cut out of 2mm and 0.6mm mild steel and then just used general 6mm and 8mm nuts and bolts with washers.
I then added some felt and 8mm foam on some section to protect the car door and metal on metal sections

The suction cups I bought separately as well as the hinge used to mount it to the structure.

Wel gedaan, stuur info asb na [email protected]

I tested it on the weekend at Pilannesburg and it worked like a dream and even on the bumpy roads it stuck to the car with no issues. I was also able to close the windows when needed and did not have the remove the structure from the car.

I will be happy to send further details if any one needs more details.

    Cheers

Hi Andrew, I did this as i found sometimes i needed the mount to be off to one side due to the side mirror or other factors. It just allows for more options on where i can place my gimbal.

    Cheers

Hi Craig, it was a gift for father day a few years back. If i am correct they got it off Take-a-lot. The box unfortunately does not have a Model number on it.

Hi Laurencs, I have tried one of those previously however i broke my window due to the weight of my large Lense.
I also found that it did not always stay in place and caused some issues when in a action situation .
