T4A Strange routing Skeleton Coast

Hello,

Today I started planing a trip along the Skeleton Coast in Namibia, which will do with guided tour by Coast2Coast Tours

Now I got stuck on a section from Move Bay to Hoarusib River Mouth, I get as far from Mowe Bay - Mowe Bay Office And Reception (130m), but as soon as I add the next waypoint N=Guided Tours Only, which is only a few meters away from Mowe Bay Office And Reception, then it routes along the coast south via D2302 - then east on the C39 - then north via C43/D3706 - Palmwag - then west via Seisfonatin - D3707 - Hoarusib River Mouth then south to N=Guided Tours Only, which is about 596km.

My question is what am I doing wrong, have I missed a setting or something?

Deekee you're not doing anything wrong, t4a is just alerting you to the fact that travelling north beyond the "Mowe Bay Office & Reception" is not normal & that you should proceed with caution - Zoom in 100% at the Office and see that t4a have created a 15m break in the track. You already know that the issue, in this case, is that you need a guide. OSM will happily route you north but runs out of track before the Hoarusib River. Google Maps doesn't show the track at all.

To get Basecamp & your device to route in the manner that you'd prefer, create WayPoints on either side of the break and direct route across the break - in the route editing window, double click on the first WayPoint and select "Direct" from the Dropdown just above the "OK" button. Many thanks that worked just great, but I had to unhide the direkt routing option first in the routing preferences
