    Good advice shared here.

I remember in our training we dived at Wondergat near Lichtenburg. One of the training dives was a night dive down to a grid (15 metres if I remember correctly), once everybody was settled on the grid we had to switch off all torches and other lighting for 30 seconds. I still vividly remember that darkness!

As for sharks, I agree with the comments made to so far.

    Enjoy every minute.

Comment above about older onstructor is true but you cant be an instructor with 60 dives. 100 minimum for DM and then most probably another 100 during instructor training.

I owned the Dive shop in Knysna at the heads many moons ago.

Have not dived in 10 years but miss it a lot.
I did my wreck dive on the Paquita and a night dive there.

You only need 40 dives with Padi to start DM and 60 to start instructor and 100 for IE.

Consider the advanced course to have access to any dive site in the recreational space. Gives you up to 30m depth rating and most places will have the sites that go past 18m. Sodwana included.

Next level, but something to consider:
If you want to be even more confident in yourself, do a rescue diver course and you will be a very confident diver and you can stop there. The knowledge isn't diving specific related either.

The rest is depending on your interests. Some are a complete waste of cash IMHO
