    Default What's Snake? Warning graphic.

    What snake is the darker one in the picture? Worker found them at my house and unfortunately killed them.

    Stilletto

    Edit: I see you beat me to it. White belly wraps around quite "high" compared to most snakes

    Do not think its stilletto. Either Olive HS or Brown water snake. Bottom is Spotted Skaapsteker.

    What does the tail look like? Stilletto snakes have a very stubbly tail with a spike.

    Wayyyyyyy to big for a stiletto!!! Jislaaik, that would have been the mother of them all.

    Here Johan is holding one which is already a fair size for one.

    I'm still not writing Stiletto snake off. It is small.

    Check it's mouth for large(ish) hinged fangs. That'll be your definitive answer.

    Stilettos can get up to around 90cm'ish IIRC....if those are normal size bricks it's really not an unreasonable size.

    Why I'm stuck on Stiletto is the height of the white belly on the side, it's quite high up.

    @GH wasn't the tail definitive?

    I can't see from the picture and I haven't seen the snake myself. Also not going to look for it as I have a slightly massive fear of snakes. If it was a Stiletto then it's a huge shame it was killed.
