Thumbs up Pajero Sport - Fortuner competition?

With the launch of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport in October this year, we might see some Fortuner competition, or what do you think?

Nice. and well, let's hope it's thunder, but no of the 'rolling' type!

Long overdue for Mitsu to bring this vehicle to us.

I think the compettion is only going to be substantial, if this vehicle is priced right. Otherwise, it will only dent Fortuner sales slightly, and will probably have more affect on the Pathfinder sales.

This should be the answer to many Mitsu fans' prayers. I must say it looks very handsome and should it hold true to Mitsubishi standards it's going to be one very capable and rugged vehicle.

It is my sincere hope that Mitsu do give Toyota a run for their money, maybe then TSA will start appreciating their Fortuner customers more.

My honest opinion is that it will not really be opposition for Toyota.

If the price and a few essentials is right, it can be an option.

The Gen 3 Pajero GLX was a killer as it was "affordable" without the unneccecary gadgets. The current range GLX is just too expensive - so they might also be in competition with their own product! I do not plan to replace my Pajero soon, but if I have to do it now, the Sport would be a defnite option.

Looking at the latest Fortuner Pricing of 407K for the top of the range Fortuner, the possible 414K for the Pajero Sport is not out of line. To be honest, the Toyota name is far to strong to let Mitsu take a big slice of the pie, but with Mitsu being rated as Nr 1 in Service by Synovate and a product that is rated around the world, the slice might be a bit bigger than expected!
I found a picture of the suspension of the Pajero Sport and will post it soon.

    Default Pejero sport looks

I reckon the only reason why the Triton has not done well is that its looks are not popular, because there isn't anything wrong with it. It would be good to get a decent competitor for 4Tuna, but that is a challenge. I almost think Toyota is treating 4Tuna as a lost leader - because it's a lot of car for your buck. Hope the PajSport is similar.
