Thanks Peter, I do and it has definitely worked in the past, particularly with waders and other water birds.
What I was really trying to establish is whether you guys are really brilliant with your call recognition or whether you use reference materials to aid your identification. As I mentioned, I don’t bother and I muddle through the process of elimination.
