Limp mode with some boost issues.
Did some live values and found a few sensors reading were out. As well as a faulty EGR.
Cleaned out the MAF and MAP sensor, blank the EGR and replaced the vacuum valve.
Did a mild. Stage 1 with Egr delete.
Will see what she does over the next few days

And yes it is a difficult and time consuming job, but you can get to everything if you bent like a contortionist...

Booked in this beautiful Everest Yesterday. Now I know their ECU tends to fall asleep unless you keep the charge right up there. So hooked up everything and got a read before we started tackling the hardware.

OMW there is just no space to work in there, the firewall is right up to the engine.

You can get to only half the bolts on either side of the engine bay to do anything. Unless you start stripping intakes and alternators.

The owner was very worried, but patient and fairly understanding, which helped a whole lot. So after a chat we decided to do the software and CAT hardware delete only.

For future reference, on the Everest's, looks like it's engine out to work on the EGR... Even the manual says so

So after a few sleepless nights researching and planning and head scratching to find a rock solid way of tuning these Everests, we have new tool in the arsenal that can tune these without a hickup.

This tool is Fast and effecient with all Everests and Rangers and we are happy to take on the "Mount" Everest again.

Had a nice and busy Wednesday.

First time ever had a 2.4 Hilux surging a little at around 1900rpm.
Some minor adjustment to the throttle and VGT sorted that right out!

Also had the pleasure of working a 3.0D4D and 2.8 GD6 Prado.
Have to say the D4D comes right up to scratch on the std 2.8 after a tune...

Then a beautiful Puma for an EGR delete.

Also found a bit of a boost leak on a Navara 2.5.
Btlut will keep an eye on it.

Some last entries for the year before we call it... :-)

P series was a retune, as it seems we can do a few things that the other guys can't do... :-)

Freelander's owner removed the EGR and EGR Cooler compeltely, so we had to work some magic on the ECU to make sure all the Relevant errors are gone.

Audi A3 got an O2 delete and will be back in the new year for a nice downpipe and Stage 1+ tune.

Audi A4 was also being fixed after someone else had their hands on it. Was goind into limp with EGR and Under boost errors. Egr was blanked and CAT was removed, but they pocked a hug hole on the flex... Did the CAT and EGR delete and fit a new Flex to the exhaust.

H1 got a nice Stage 1 Eco tune with EGR Delete

With the Wrangler we got rid of the pesky TPMS error and did anice gearbox map on it while we were busy...

The 4.0l Prado got our very awesome V6 Stage 1 with Gearbox Cal to match. completely different Cruiser..

The V8 70 series, just got a tune to match the HD Clutch. :-)

Still one of my FAV cruisers to work on.

Spent some time on this one as the gearbox was exceptionally bad.

Gearing now super smooth, and locks up from 105km/h.

Extremely happy client, and with the added power it brings this whole package together nicely.

    Have you worked on the 2,2 RAV4? It's a 2012 model (I think).
Somehow doesn't feel as sprightly any more, and fuel consumption also seems to be getting slightly higher.

    Hi DD

have most definitaly worked on them.
Would also highly recomment EGR blank and DeCat if it still present.

Stage 1 one these are around 23kW and 90Nm

On the way down the Hermanus from Pretoria this Vito decided that the DPF has had enough.
Customer tried a few YouTube fixes, but to no avail. Full on limp mode and nothing got it cleaned out.

Did a dpf regen on it! The soot was at 280g when we started and burned out to 20g.
Limp gone and a booking awaiting for Mike when he gets back home to have the CAT, DPF and Adblue removed.

While working on that noticed I noticed a lot of oil splatter in the engine bay.
Presumably the one of the guys that worked on her split the oil filler tube, and it was just spraying oil everywhere....
Then also noticed that the oil was completely overfilled, even after loosing some, so drained some out for him.
Had to put a plug in it and a hose clamp.
But it will get him home.

Also heard a funny noice from u der the car while driving, and found that the plastic engine cover was hanging for dear life with only one screw. Luck had it that I had some of the exact screws by hand so made sure is was sorted!

Absolutely amazing vehicles these, but as with any modern diesel, Adblue, EGR and DPF's is just a pain in the backside. Click image for larger version.
