Default 2005 Ford Ranger clutch ?

    Hi all

I'm hoping there's someone out there who can give some advice on my problem.

I've just recently bought my 2005 Ranger supercab 4X4. (2 weeks ago)

When I test drove it, I picked up a problem in the gearbox (bearing whine)
I made the dealership re-do the gearbox, and while it was out, the mechanic saw that the clutch was getting close to it's end, so that was replaced too.

So... reconditioned gearbox and new clutch kit.

My problem is that the clutch pedal is taking almost on the floor !?
I've bled the clutch, but to no success.

I'm worried, because it feels as if it does'nt fully release the pressure plate, and it results in difficult gear selection.

Can anyone help me on this matter ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

either hydraulics, or the pressure plate or maybe even the something on the thrust bearing fork!!

how sure are you that its a brand name, brand new clutch, could also be a poor quality re-con!!

get some one to press the clutch pedal and see how much movement there is on the pin!!

    just quick thoughts

    good luck!!

    Hi all.

    Found the problem.
The bright spark grease monkey did'nt adjust the pushrod on the clutch and the lock nut for the adjustment was backed off completely, so it was untightening itself while I was driving.

So I virtually had to push the pedal through the floor board before the clutch was activated.

    All better now.

    Thanks
