Frank Visagie.
Dankie vd terugvoer.

To book you WhatsApp Lodivico Salinha on +258 84 301 1719. She will send you a confirmation letter. You pay in cash either when you enter or depart the park - Mets or Rands. We stayed mid December at Aguia Pesqueira - we were the only ones staying there. Magnificent view of the lake.

Hi we're planning to cross from Kruger to Moz using Giriyondo or Pafuri - any info re safety of crossing in April (for Pafuri) Petrol, chalet accommodation, B&B or basic hotel on the Moz side going towards Vilanculos would be much appreciated.
If you are going in April the Pafuri route means a ferry crossing at Mapai and there's only camping accommodation at Banhine NP between Pafuri and Vilanculos, only diesel available at Mapai with both diesel and petrol at Mabote. Giriyondo will have formal accommodation once you reach the coast aim for Xai Xai, more than enough fuel stations along the way. Without the ferry crossing the Pafuri route is both shorter and quicker with the ferry crossing time wise it's about 13 hours Giriyondo is about 14 hours. Both routes are quite safe but you can expect mud on the Pafuri route in April, coming back the park fees to enter the Limpopo NP is eye watering to the point that I will avoid this route coming home.
Edit: I forgot about this place in Mapai we saw it only from the outside when we passed through in September last year and it looked decent enough https://www.ioverlander.com/places/1...e-bufalo-mapai

FYI. we've just returned from Moz via Giriyondo so I asked both KNP and Parque Nat do Limpopo how to book in PN do L. You can book camping at Aquia Pesqueira on WhatsApp. +258 843 011 719 or [email protected], but the booking officer is sometimes away and there is no back up. It is acceptable to KNP and PN do L to stay at Covane Community Lodge in Massingir (+258 86 958 7864 www.covanecommitylodge.com) if it doesn't suit you to stay in KNP. (We live in the Greater Kruger near Phalaborwa). Covane camping was rustic but comfortable and cheaper than Aguia (R260 for 2 people). Huts are available with mixed reviews. We last stayed at Aguia in 2019 but it was rather run down.
It is essential that you have accommodation booking and POP for either KNP or Covane/Aguia when crossing the border.
The road in PN do L took about 2hrs from Giriyondo to the gate near Massingir. (Fortuner towing a trailer).
Border times are 8:00 to 16:00
Costs: Mts 900 per vehicle, Mts 900 per trailer, Mts 600 px, Mts 600 px camping at Aguia. You can pay in rands (exchange rate 3.2 Mts per rand and 3.5 Mts at the banks in Moz at present)
Curious if any of you have experience driving from massingir to mapai through the limpopo park or vice versa ?
