Safair price doubling

My daughter is flying to CPT in October and we bought tickets now. Safair down, Lift back up. R2000 total, including the Discovery discount.

I booked 2 tickets via Safair to JHB-CPT (return) in August (booking done on 2 June). Price today show a R200 increase.

At least Safair/Cemair/SAA/Airlink are now on the Discovery Travel rewards program. That means a R3000 discount on a R8500 return flight for 2 people Cape Town to Durban & back.

If only I knew that before I booked and paid before Discovery announced it.

Flown Cemair three times, they've been late three times, and they're as expensive as all the other profiteering bar stewards. A pox on them all. Cost me R3,800 for a KSI - ORT return.

Which routes do they currently fly? I was under the impression they only operated Jhb - Cpt. If so it limits them as an option.

Was between cape town and Jo'burg.

Just booked the same flights this morning, last time we paid R4700 for two people return, this time it's R5700. And that was the cheapest flight I could get.

I know prices increase as you approach the departure date, but these are my real world values:

I booked flights on 8 May between ORT and George for 2 adults, 2 children. Departing in September, returning a week later. Total Flight cost, return: R7100

Checking those same flights, with same details, today. Total: R13 000

VERY glad to have booked when I did.
