Best route Muvv lodge (near Chirundu ) to South Luangwa NP?

Which route do you guys recommend from Muvv Campsite to South Luangwa National Park.
Google is showing one that skirts Kafue town and Lusaka, but not sure of the road conditions?
Also, campsite recommendations would be much appreciated.

Firstly the name is MVUU lodge or camp, just for the records.

Unfortunately you would have to return to the Chirundu - Kafue - Lusaka road then head out on T4 (Great Eastern Road) towards Chipata
All other "roads" are more like seasonal tracks un the embankment and are adventurous to state the least.

Regarding campsites, are you asking for specific campsites at Mvuu, or places to camp on your way to SLNP?

If former, then definitely try to book Elly or Mvuu campsites, as they are the only ones that face the river.

If later, then Pioneers, on the eastern outskirts of Lusaka, is the most logical choice. Further of Lusaka, Luangwa bridge or Petauke are reachable from Mvuu in a day, but I don't know the current state of campsites/lodges there.

As stated, the only viable route is back through Kafue town, up to Lusaka and then north. The escarpment track is only for the brave and is likely to be impassable in some places. Accommodation en route would be as mentioned Pioneer just north of Lusaka (Eureka on the south side is fine but rather get through Lusaka traffic en route from Mvuu) and then in Petauke, Chimwemwe Lodge is a good option, with camping and chalets, and a reasonable restaurant http://www.chimwemwelodge.com/

Spoke to someone yesterday who has just done the escarpment track two days ago. Horrible! Avoid.

I stayed at Chimwemwe two nights ago, very nice a reasonable lodge plus it has an emu so two thumbs up from me.
