Availability of BWP Notes

I have phoned Bidvest, TravelEx (Canal Walk), Nedbank here in Cape Town and no one has Pula Notes

Any suggestion?

Why not withdraw from ATMs,as soon as you cross the border into Botswana. I guess at the border post, they have swipping machines, that you can pay with.

Try the banks at the airport, they usually carry larger stocks of currency

When you get back to SA the banks will laugh at you if you try and sell them the pula's - so spend it all

We paid by card at Martin's Drift.

Card payment is accepted. Went through border today SA/Botswana. No issues. Just clear your SA card to use outside the borders with your bank.

We went through Bokspits last month. Our traveling companions paid the fees by Credit card and then drew Pula from the ATM in Tsabong.

Just returned from trip through Botswana and Namibia, used card all over including all border crossings (x4)

They have card machines at border.posts now, so you no longer need money in the forms of cash notes...

I got to Tsabong and the ATM lines was very long. Just make sure you are not hiiting it Fri end of month.

Was just thinking back a while. I stayed in Bots 1 week per month for 25 years and can honestly not remember ever having Pula in my wallet ?

Yes even the Police got card machines for paying fines

I would just carry just few for firewood by roadside and for bush mechanic if i had a tire repair needed quickly.

Would you not need it to pay cash for permits on those routes that require permits?
Also, may depend on if permits are acquired at the gate (of the parks) or at the Dept of Wildlife and National Parks in town?

Was there only for business. Only bush I ever saw was the Bull and Bush pub
