Help wanted from Port Elizabeth

I would like them to physically go to an address, check that the business is 100% legitimate, and actually go into the office for a look about to see if they are "above board"

The company was Remtec.
They re manufacture engines to the original specs.

I paid for a new engine, fuel pump and injectors for my 3.2 Mazda BT50.
They told me 10 days and I will have the engine.
5 weeks later I still did not have my engine that I paid nearly 83k for upfront.
No emails, no feedback, no phone calls from Remtec.
I had to keep phoning and every time I was given a different excuse…
The last excuse was that the engine had been couriered to Limpopo Isuzu by mistake.

My concerns were legitimate, and my next step was going to be the local police station.

I've heard very mixed reviews about Remtec. Some folks can't speak highly enough of them but others hate them. Communication not their strong point

The communication from their side is absolutely shocking.
The guy turned backwards somersaults to answer my every question before I committed and paid in full- upfront.

Then the silence was deafening.
Emails don’t get answered, phone calls sometimes not returned, or only returned 3 - 4 days later.

My engine, new fuel pump and new injectors has arrived now.
And the only time that I knew about it was when the Durban branch of the courier company phoned me to ask my address….

Part 1: October 1st. 2021
When I was first advised that the engine is cooked, I was told that I could get a new engine for about 60k.
The other option was to have my engine machined. New pistons, rings, bearings ect. 40K
At the time, bucks were tight. I was forced to take the cheaper option.

Part 2:
The engine was stripped and "Tom's Auto Engineering" in Effingham did the machining.
I paid for all the engine spares up front 20k.
....... Then it was story after story. Delay after delay. Lockdown, he had Covid, December holidays, no big end bearing available.

The engine has been installed and taken out 4 times since I the start.
First day - I drove 2km's. Cut out, would not start.
2nd time - I drove to PWC, about 10km's away. Would not change gears. It's an automatic, then the turbo was whining, then it went into limp mode.
3rd time - Drove halfway up the M19. Maybe 10 km's. Lost all power, temperature gauge red lined.

I have had to buy a new turbo. New timing chain. New tensioners. New battery. 3 head gasket sets.
The engine is completely poked.

I took it to an independant workshop for a compression test.
All 5 cylinders failed. 80% and higher passing air.
This is now month 8 with no bakkie.My patience is finished. The engineering workshop dude is still alive because it is illegal to shoot him.

Personally if a Ford engine only lasts for 150'000 kilometres. Then Ford can shove their trucks up their **** where the sun don't shine.

My experience about doing anything in PE .. very lethargic in getting backto you whether its a private Professional Practice, Commercial or Municipal/Govt Dept .. but for the rest I love it

Apart from my Remtec experience, I have passed through PE once, and stayed at Addo for 4 nights.
Friendliest people in the country.
