I do not want to publish these on the giveaway forum. They cost me a lost of money to have framed, hung in my boardroom for 10 odd years and now I simply have no place to hang them. They have massive sent1mental value.

I would like these to go to someone who has a classy boardroom / office as these will add value to any such room. Would work well with lots of leather furniture.

The are Thomas Baines prints with decent frames and with engraved labels describing typical South African scenes between 1848 and 1863.

There are two 53 x 47cm and four 59 x 49cm. Forgive the poor picture, don't have time to set them up.

At the bottom of Prince Alfred Pass between Uniondale and Knysna sits the original house that was built by Thomas Baines to live in while the pass was built. His young daughter, whilst playing on the veranda, was chased by a turkey and fell down the stairs. Badly injured, she passed away some days later and is buried at the bottom of the garden.

The present owners of the farm on which it is situated (the property has been in their family for 3 generations) are in the process of restoring the house to its original condition. Should it come my way, I feel it should be donated to be hung in the house.

I attach a picture of the house as well as a pic of one of the yellow wood floor planks (with my no8 shoe astride it for comparative reasons).

Just a note. Thomas Baines the artist and Thomas Bain the engineer are two different people. Surnames also not spelt the same. But the paintings would still be very appropriate for the Bain house.

As the pic's would not be "going home" so to speak, which would have been a wonderful outcome, I am still open to offers.

The one problem with a private residence is the fact that only one set of people would get to see them.
