    There is a counter-argument that by time an animal - and more spesifically an Elephant Bull when it reaches this size and age - he has already contributed to the gene-pool and may in fact be past his age of contribution. I would hope so, at least.......that he has already fathered many mighty future bulls.

    As for the ethical debate, that is a proper hornets nest.......
