Had various towing vehicles over the last 10 years.

Been towing an Afrispoor Cougar for 7 of those which is always loaded to the max and must weigh over 1.5 tons all in. Generally tow between 110km/hr and 120km/hr. A lot of these trips have been to Kruger and I've excluded game drives from the figures to give true towing figures only.

With the Cruiser, around 5,5km/l but goes down to 4km/l when leaving the blackstuff and engaging 4x4.

Fortuner, 7,8km/l, haven't done any off road towing with it yet.

Towing a Commander with my Defender Td5 110 Hardtop this past holiday to the beloved Kruger.

Round trip 2000km over Longtom going down and Magoebaskloof coming back to North West.

Avg speed is 90km/h as is the top speed of most landies.
This is my consumption. I think I should be pleased. What is your avg towing a heavy caravan with a Td5?

Dont want to burst your bubble. 1637 km/326.35l= 5km/l. Nothing wrong, its a Landy, considering the mountains. Did you enjoy it. Was it nice. Why complaining, what are you living for? Be happy that you did not tow from Cape Town.

Times have long changed. It is far more relialitic to rather report consumption in Rand per km, than liters per 100km.

    Shoe,

I must admit, there are some guys that claim amazing consumption on their 200's I can only dream about. Then again, my engine probably needs to loosen up a bit seeing that it has less than a 100k on the clock

I run my fuel economy on the fuelly app so I can track it

And I must say even when I was thinking about buying the 200 friends of ours told me how thursty theres is

And honestly yes if I drive the 200 like n gti fuel economy goes down to 6.7kml
But if I stick to speed limits and sometimes just at 110kmh it goes to 8kml

Towing the explorer I was expecting 15 to 17L per 100km
I was very surprised when I got between 13 and 14L per 100km

My 200 stands on 262000km now
