I agree on the beef thing

But lamb can be difficult to work with in terms of getting flavours in - like nuts etc

I am yet to have a super hot bunny that is the same every time. At Swaadish I ask for them to make it a hot one and I'm usually rewarded. Not many places do stupid hot all the time since a lot of their customers are people that actually don't eat that hot all the time (Whiteys).
Place in Westmead - Krimmels does some of the hottest food I eat (use them for lunch often) and those will give you some tears BUT sometimes they just aren't as good. Same happened when I used to pop in at Britania Hotel after a surf sesh, hot mostly but some bunnies were just meh.

Jaipur Palace take away in durban North is very consistent with all their food. You can tell them to make it how spicy you want, as they make each meal per order.

    Sorry for the late reply...

I had lamb on both occasions.

Curry O's was only marginally better and I would put it at around 8.0 on the scale I used for the first bunny. But it could have been hotter as well!

As mentioned they probably don't generally cater for the heat lovers but more for the general public.

Maybe it's a personal thing but I like the red oil slick as I think that is where a lot of the flavour and heat lies. That slick was missing from both bunny's.

Best in Pinetown is at the old Sandy Centre - now called Main Spar.

Above Spar is Oriental Delights. Will wait for your feedback

Unfortunately I'm back in Gauteng... but rest assured I'll be digging up this thread next time I'm on my way back to Durban!

I could do with another bunny right now. I think if I lived there I'd be slightly obese especially after winter!

Reading this with the smell of curry wafting from the kitchen.

I'm running out for some fresh bread shortly

A few years back I was doing a project in New Germany, the Oriental was our go to. The principle consultant lived in Gauteng, he has their bunnies for every lunch. I don't know how he survived, they were certainly hot enough for me to survive only one a week on update days.

    Not bad at all,
    But
When it comes for time to pay, you pull out your wallet, flash your card.....
Suddenly you get that terrible feeling in your stomach, and it's not the curry!!
It's when you get that response .....

    "Sorry an all Sir
    but it's cash only"

    Hopefully it's changed...
Luckily the Engen across the way has a working ATM

If in Westville, Pinch of Spice in Jan Hofmeyr Rd is not bad at all but unlicenced, or even across the road at Jalapeno Cove, licenced. Genuine Indian curry as eaten by Indians and other interesting people apologies to Olmeca tequila).

    I only chow beef bunny.

I don't like spending my eating time sifting through and picking bones out of my food.

There is a small shop in Ballito that makes awesome bunny chows and other curry dishes. Only open during office hours and unlicensed with 2 or 3 tables. I found people there who brought their own beer etc almost every time I went there.
Unfortunatly cannot remember their name. Better go there not later than lunch or their bunny chows would be sold out
