Freelander II looks great, looked at it but in the end would never buy one because of the reliability issues
Currently looking for an Xtrail (previous shape) for "overlanding lite" duties.
    good luck !

What reliability issues? Probably one of the most reliable vehicles I've ever had to be honest.

So after 10 yrs of owning my FL2, I got myself a Touareg to tow my off-road caravan to more remote places

SWAMBO always wanted an evoque which I was comfortable getting since it’s based on the Freelander

we now practically tow the caravan mostly with the evoque, use it for trips away and it’s a great daily. Not that’s it better than the Touareg, but equals it in almost everything, but lighter on diesel, easier to live with and as comfortable

If you don’t find a suitable FL2, don’t overlook the pretty girl, as she is very capable and reliable. Certainly has impressed me loads.
