    Default Transiting the Tankwa Karoo NP from Middelpos SSW

    Can't see to get clear answer anywhere but am sure the experience on this forum will be able to provide clarity in short order.

    I'm looking to use the road highlighted in the image to transit the TKNP travelling SSE from Middelpos. I see this goes through the TKNP Reception but there doesn't appear to be and entry or exit gate perse. Is one due SANParks Day visitor rates to transit the park like this? It seems to me to be a public road so I'm guessing not. I will not be staying in the park, just transiting it - really hoping that I don't have to drive all the way around it.

    No gates. You can travel through no problem.

    The road was not in the best condition when we travelled it Dec last year. The pass was fine though.

    there are gates on entrance and exit,and they are permanently open.
    rates are R0.Probability of seeing another vehicle are low.
    deflate tires and enjoy.
