Jeep Changed TPMS in 2013, if you get a set of post 2013 rims with TPMS then you should be good on a 2015

    Thanks.

There is plenty clearance. Tire place put the thin balancing weights out of the way. The clearance between the rim and the brake caliber parts is actual quite a bit. I will have no issues.

I had a choice of silver or black rims. I took black. They were cheaper. I have 5. 2nd hand but spotless. I am happy that I took these. On Sunday I see how tires work. Only 120 km of which 11 is on a sand road. I expect that it will be good.

Thanks again to everybody who contributed on this project.

Cost: Just under R19 k fitted for 4 tires on Jeep and 2 on caravan. I paid a bit premium by using BestDrive compared to the cheapest offer BUT they have done sensor/valve transfers. Jeep sends their vehicles there. It was a good service. If you do not have spare valve stems go to a place who has done the removal before.

Company vehicle so small premium is nothing due to tax considerations. (Caravan is a mobile office)

Some driven on main roads and also on sand. All good. Speedo was giving true speed. Now it seems to show 3km/h too high.

You can probably change the tyre size with OBD Jscan app and tool.

I did get 3 or 4 times error code P0016. Normally when there was rain or car wash. I thought it was wiring issue. Not so. Error is for: The correlation of the camshaft and crankshaft positions on bank 1 is incorrect based on the intake camshaft position sensor.

I had it checked properly. Angles are not right. There is a method to train parts to behave. Did not work. Actually got worse. Power loss.

Apparently what is causing the problem is the chain stretches. Job to replace is not that big job. Only issue is that before opening it is not possible to know if other parts are worn. There are two "kits" Chain only and Chain plus some other parts. Cost will be somewhat over R10 k. I should get Jeep back mid next week.

I have to paint 2 bedroom flat I bought. Smart is able to take the tools, paint and even ladders plus 2 people

In general Jeep works nicely. Open road and some town driving under 11 l/100km. Towing 4000 km average was under 15 l/100 km.

+1, I maintain a couple of 3.6 V6's with well north of 200k km on the clock and I've never heard of this.

I have done the oil cooler fix on ALL of them, though.

Just under 140 k. I am 3rd owner and 4th user. I was told that it happens mainly due to heat. I know that I have not over heated the engine. I keep checking temperatures. Towing on a hot day with uphills the highest oil temp I have seen just over 100 C.

I drive old cars. I expect things to happen. I was a bit surprises with the chain issue.

I will report when I get more info.

I have extra radiator for the gearbox.

What is this oil cooler fix? Is it the one between the V banks? What was done and what was rough cost?

Yes, the one in the V.

The cooler + the oil sensor and water temp sensor is replaced. The whole job was R15k. Did the last one last week.

Some of them leak oil into the V, some fail and mix oil and water. Some cause the car to overheat instantly. I've seen all 3 instances.

The oil and water mayo is the worst, getting that system flushed and cleaned out is a pain.

    Thanks

Is the replacement still the same design or is it different?

I understand that originally that cooler was no good but it was improved. Which year?

I do know about the issue but I get conflicting details on it. I have 2015 model. I have asked also the mechanic. Basically no good answer.

The replacements are a different design as far as I know.

I'm not sure which year it was changed.

Possibly not. There is aluminum option:

    https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-135...xoC3IcQAvD_BwE

    https://www.amazon.com/Dorman-926-87...t?ie=UTF8&th=1

Currently not available at Amazon. Price was about $200

    Worth to investigate this.

I did get the car back yesterday. About R8500.00. Only chain replaced. There was a delay as a result of some wrong chain supplied. Was it ordered or supplied wrong I do not know. Car drives well.

Forgot to ask about the cast oil cooler

The Oil cooler on mine was swopped in 2018 by the dealer on a recall. You can call a Jeep dealership with the vin and ask them to check the recall and service history.. Just sold my WK2 after 220k kms. never had any engine issues...I was the third owner, put 80k kms on her.

Recalls and their status can be also checked here: https://www.mopar.com/chrysler/en-us...ls/search.html

I did check this (again) and while doing it I did find out that I have been driving one year with a disk for SWAMBO's Suzuki.
