Are you frikkin insane! Not only do you post not 1, not 2 but THREE number plates but also a house number!

This level of recklessness is almost as bad as when you use your oversized Hilux to intimidate other road users in the 120 lane

I suppose if he had permission and declared his intents when taking the pics - it's all cool?

No one would consent to their number plate being posted online.

In fact there is case law from the ICC at the Hague which states that if the defence is able to show the accused did this he is automatically assumed to be insane and any charges of war crimes or crimes against humanity will be dropped.

    Serious stuff

My take on this whole character, boring thing is that firstly the anti Hilux brigade uses it as an excuse when they have no other answers. But for crying out loud, what is the difference in driving a Hilux, Ranger, Isuzu, Mazda or Triton? They are all bakkies with the the same basic layout and therefore drive very similarly. Then to compare a Hilux with a Landy or BMW is just dof! They are different vehicles and have nothing in common. If you drive a Landy, you clearly need something different in a vehicle than what a bakkie can offer and vice versa.

The character thing I usually understand as generally something that breaks down often or have some quirks like difficult starting or water and dust leaks etc. In other words, a vehicle that always works and does what is expected of it, is considered boring. Well if that is the case then I am happy to be driving a boring vehicle.

I understand Anton's fascination with his M40, but even that vehicle will have its challenges purely for what it is. But it is not your everyday, every man's car.
That is exactly what I was getting at, for some people a vehicle is for getting from A to B with a specific set of modifiers (needs to be 4x4, needs to have a load bin etc. - merely examples). While for other people the vehicle needs to move the on some other level/levels. Those that get it do, those that don't, don't and probably won't. But it also doesn't mean that those who needs to be moved by a vehicle throw all logic out the window (even though some do), it just means there are are additional criteria when time comes to choose a vehicle.

I get hired cars on a regular basis.

When the new Fortuner GD range came out a few years ago, I had one for a week as a hired car.

I did a whole week day by day, blow by blow review on it.

    I HATED everything about it.

I also said that without a doubt I would buy one. Same goes for it's bakkie sibling.

A vehicle has character when you park it the evening and it worked fine the whole day, and then the next morning when you want to start it it says f… you I’m tired..

And it has character when you battle the whole day to get it going and when you put everything back the way it was it starts and runs beautifully

And it has character when it runs with a constant miss fire until you give it some tlc and change the oil… then it runs smoothly

In their defence though, they must have simply read the memo wrong, as the poor sods produced their first vehicle as a car instead of a bakkie just the previous year.

Up untill then, this bunch of slackers were building aircraft! What a let-down.

Possibly though, their parent company did have a presence at Kariba - as Fuji Heavy Industries?
