Default A true real world comparison Hilux vs Ranger vs Amarok vs Navara vs P-Series vs BT-50

Considering that for most of future bakkie owners this is the closest to off-roading they will go. Very entertaining test\comparison.

    SPOON!

Interesting. Mazda with an Isuzu motor. I had no idea. Very impressive performance figures

Can't think of anything more removed from the real world use of bakkies, but perhaps bakkies are often used in drag races somewhere in the clutch plate triangle. In Durbs it's all City Golfs and GTIs.

I have to wonder why it is more important to reach 100km/h in a certain time frame than the ability to do a 4x4 route?

The world seems to be in a hurry....

This makes as much sense as the tow bar to tow bar tugs of war.

I suppose they have a following and also those who will make their choice on these results.

I see it as a bit of fun and they get their views for it.

I have the slowest ute. Even though it is new, by comparison all the other utes are way more powerfull.

Someone asked the other day on a local caravan forum which ute to buy to tow a 2000kg camper trailer.

Most of the younsters agreed you NEED to have 500Nm at LEAST to tow anything.

I come from towing a caravan with a Nissan Hardbody 3.2d with 200Nm torque.

I put it to them that 350Nm is more than enough considering we may only drive a max of 100km/h.
Its only when you hit very steep hills where you will have to go slower.

Its the have to go slower part that seems to be the problem for them cupcakes

You guys are all full of nonsense. If Im right, all of you have either got a TURBO diesel, or monster petrol motor?

if you practiced what you preach youd all be driving a 4.2 NA diesel patrol or cruiser donkey.

We all want speed and power.

Speed and power from 80kph to 120kph yes.

Speed and power from 0 to 100kph not so much.

Except if you live in the Woesrand. Need for speed is strong there.
