Smile Nissan X-trail(2006/7)- indicators and hazards stopped working

    Hi

I have a 2006/7 Nissan 4x4 X-Trail 2.2 Diesel. (see screenshot for vehicle - it's not mine, but the same Nissan style)(attached screenshot of hazard switch, fuses and flasher relay)

My indicators and hazards stopped working. I checked the 10A fuse as per the fuse layout booklet but could not find anything faulty with the fuse. I did not check the other fusers.??
When you turn the Left/Right the arrow on the dashboard stays solid. No sound comes the flasher indicator relay when I pushed the hazards or the indicators to left/right.

I bought a new flashing indicator relay from Nissan (R160.74), hoping it was that, and replaced the old relay, but the problem still persist.

The old relay did not make a sound, but the new one does, but not
    a tick-tick, when I push the hazards.
When you turn the Left/Right the arrow stays stays solid.

My next step will be to replace the hazard switch, is there a way to check the switch, if it is faulty, etc. I cannot see anything faulty.

Is there any steps to remove the hazard lightning switch?
Did anyone have a similar issue?

    Hi

Also checked fuse 35 under the bonnet, the fuse was good, but I still replaced it with a new 10A, and the fuses 2/7 under the steering wheel.

    Still no luck.

Unfortunately I cant help with the actual problem but I can tell you how to get to the switch. The silver trim around the switch, radio, just clips off. Easiest is to try hook the tips of you fingers under the bottom edge and start tugging. There is a bit of a trick to it but it comes off pretty easily. If I recall the switch will actually be attached to this trim and is easily unclipped.

To be honest though I doubt the issue is the switch. If it was surely the indicators would still work then. My first thought is its the relay but you have replaced that so Im out of ideas.

Hi Stuart, thank you for the message. Don't worry, just by sharing this information, you have been a great helped.

I got a spare hazard switch from a friend. This one have the demister button at the bottom, where my one is blank. it comes from the same model T30.

I just hope he connector is the same.

He said it is still good condition, I will give it a try in the morning. Will keep you posted.

    Regards.

A "non-ticking" relay usually means a bulb has blown. At the risk of being shot down in flames, are you sure all the bulbs are working?

    Hello All,

Thank you for all the message. The problem was solved.

I replaced the wrong relay. The flasher relay (3 pin) was under the front section above the steering wheel.

It was difficult to track, but finally got to track the sound... (click sound..)

After replacing the replay everything is working.

    Regards, be safe.
