Default VW T5 (crew bus) power in the back

    Hi,

I have been trying the Google this thing to death, but can't seem to find what I am looking for:

I want to travel with my Engel 40 fridge in the back (behind the the 3rd bench). Currently there is no power socket/outlet here.

How do I run power to here? Where can I pick it up? Where do I mount the outlet? If anyone has done this before, I don't want to reinvent the wheel.

But, if I am the 1st, I have two options as I see it:
The previous owner ran power to the hitch (assume to power a trailer), there is a brad harris plug here. I can perhaps plug in here and run a cable through the rear left wheel arch if there is an opening to go through (don't want to drill).
Or... run from the fuse box under the passenger front left seat a dedicated cable. I will then have to remove all the seats and run the cable under the carpets and replace all.

There is a notch on the left side panel, just behind the jack mount, that one could possibly mount an outlet.

Please help, running out of time

I ran my cable from the battery underneath the firewall and into the cab underneath the front passenger seat.

Thx, but how did you get power to the rear cargo section?

Underneath the rubber floor towards the right back door step. Then underneath the plastic cover behind the right sliding door. My dc dc charger is then directly behind the 3rd row seat. I'll try find a previous post.

Look under the front passenger seat, in my bus there is a thick positive wire that is live, (original wiring) and run it under the floor. Is there not a power point installed?
