I used to love the authoritive feel of a nice Series Wagon with a bull bar that made you feel somewhat invincible. Cruisers have the same imperious feel and I am sure that Nissan will give you the same feeling.

Then I bought a normal Double Cab and found the feeling of actually getting to places, doing so in some comfort and with reasonable fuel economy becomes attractive in its own way. If that Nissan is a holiday play thing, then I would have it in a heartbeat, but overall I think you should be happy with your ford which will do everything you probably need it to do, in more comfort, with less fuel and with more piece of mind.

Willem did say he wants to get it for the wife. In that case, slower is better. The last thing you want to do is to get a 4.8 for the missus. Trust me. I've seen that movie before...

Willem one thing about the 3.0l Patrol it does not have much low down torque if not on boost. Don't expect to idle along like you can do wit a 4.2

The rims and lack of fender flares did make me think of a UN vehicle. But a N/A 4.2 diesel is not going to have that scoop on the bonnet. I reckon it is a 3L turbo diesel. Unless it is a 4.2 with an aftermarket turbo.

Edit: Also, as far as I know, there are no facelift 4.2's around. Although somebody could have changed the grill and headlights.

Ek is baie gelukkig met my ZD30 enjin in my Patrol, ek het hom nou al amper 6 jaar, sonder probleme.

Sonder die RTT is my beste so 10.5 lt per 100 km. Ek kry meestal so 12.2 - 12.8 lt per 100 km

You are talking about what was available in SA, but the countries around us had different models, I have seen them in Lesotho and Botswana and have had a Zim guy around at my house that came and bought a set of mags from me for his one that Tinus organised for him, a UN model from Lesotho with the 4.2 NA original engine.
