I was lead to believe a spatlo is made with polony. So that version seems like the snob version.

I don't particularly like it but I sense there are a number of likers out there.
My dislike mostly stems from the industrial mincing/chopping of the mangos including the pips (pitte). I hate those hard pip pieces. Maybe I will like home made atchaar without pips included.

There are many foodie threads on this forum that make me think twice about sticking with my pre-packed sarmies for lunch .... This is not one of those threads

The Ďfarm stallí this piece speaks of is no more. It was taken over by foreigners quite a few years ago and the quality went down the drain. Another few years after being foreign owned is had burnt down and in its place stands an empty gravel patch with 3 partially burnt walls.
I grew up gatsbys and at one stage in my late teens would finish a full one by myself just about every weekendÖ. But that was then.
    Present day though,
If you want a good gatsby then there are much more options. A few names have stood the test of time in that department
Mariamís kitchen (3 or 4 branches around CT)
    Golden dish
    Cost corner
    Aneesas
Sure there are 100ís of others but they just donít compare to these.

    One more thing:
Please, I mean no disrespect to anyone reading this but itís just the way it is.
You do not order a gatsby from a place owned by our fairer skinned and blue eyed neighbours. You can only get the real taste experience from a cape malay establishment.
I think thatís about as politically correct as I can put it. Surely you donít go to spur for fish and chips.
