Default Should I move my 2nd spare..?

    Hey everyone, need some advise/input/recommendations...

My 2nd spare is currently on a rear spare wheel carrier, back of my 2000 Toyota Hilux. Should I move it to the roof of my canopy? I'm adding rails so that I can store wood on my canopy roof when travelling, so was thinking to move the 2nd spare as well.

The issues I have: 1. It adds an extra 1/2m to the length of the vehicle 2. It's already leaning over at an angle and Im worried it might get worse over time 3. At my last service I was told I might experience less vibrations and noise by removing it.

Like I said, the only weight on the canopy roof will be the spare wheel and at most 3 bags of wood.

    What would you do?

I would move it to the roof, out of the way.

Try placing it in front of the rear axel for a little more stability.

Only downside is wind resistance, but it won't be much, the tire is round.

If you can tilt your solar panel, you'd have less wind resistance...

    But I'd move it too...

Moving it would make your number plate fully visible and remove the risk of a traffic fine.

lol, thanks. I feel the same. Forgot to mention that I have to open everything up to access the back, which you pointed out
