    Thank you for continuing your blog! It is both joyful and painful to read as we were in Mana only days apart from you and didn't see one single lion. Rangers told us the no cat streak followed a few days of fantastic sightings. Lucky you!
    As for the delay you can rest assured that us readers enjoy all your blogs (Webster, ortelius) as timeless pieces, looking forward to the next installment (s)

    And....Chitake! https://stuckinlowgear.com/chitake-s...ools-zimparks/

    We loved it and want to go back. I wish it were easier to book (the self drivers lament) and less expensive, but given that it is one of a kind it is no surprise that is the price.

    Can anyone recommend a guide to hire for Chitake Springs?

    One can ask at Mana Pools or the check point (Ruckomeshi Bridge?) as (when we were there 2 years ago) there is a ranger camp just on the opposite side of the gravel road from Chitake (the north side) and usually a ranger would walk through the camps or be on the other side of the Chitake valley. You could try Talent +263 71619 4725 but I think he is at Mana now.

    Best of luck; enjoy it lucky fishes!!

    I have received a few freindly nudges to finish, and so here is the lastest effort. We loved Mana Pools, and it was such a different experience than other parks in Southern Africa. Two more posts to go on Mana Pools, and then maybe another two or three to finish the blog? We'll see how I go. Next up is Chitake Springs.

    @Webster - you're up next
    Asante sana. Never too late to post. Keep up the good work.

    We too loved Mana Pools, but we were there in “suicide month” before the rains broke. It was VERY hot and humid.

    Margot and Richard from Maabwe Bay would be my go to address for information since they have many contacts and know professional guides. We had a very interesting chat with them on this topic and the stringent requirements to get a professional guides licence; one detail stuck with me: actually shoot a charging buffalo.
