    Default Mahindra karoo dust

    Dusk not dust

With all its extras like MT tyres, front and back off road bumpers, off-road suspension all for R 550k new.

Does not look half that bad either.

Mahindra seems to be getting better at building vehicles that appeal to the South African buyer. I drove a Mahindra Karoo a couple months ago and it wasn't half bad. Also didn't look bad with the trim and bits and bobs. And as far as I have heard the reliability isn't bad either.

I think they probably have a ways to go still to compete head to head with the "tier 1" manufacturers, but it is very competitively priced and seems to be a whole lot better than most if not all of the cheaper Chinese offerings.

standard pickup is fitted with heavy duty shocks(not sure if gas or fluid) and heavy duty leaf springs.

the article quote heavy duty gas filled but nor mention of a brand

The suspension features special heavy-duty gas-filled off-road shock absorbers, heavy-duty custom-designed leaf springs and new suspension bushes. While these upgrades do not change the Karoo Dusk’s ground clearance, it has been claimed that they ensure faultless performance on dirt, rock, sand and mud, while not adversely affecting its road manners

I like the look of it.

Would have looked better in cruiser brown with black trim.

Even the black rims look good on it.

I am really not that familiar with either to be able to make a judgement call on that. I would guess it is probably as good, potentially better taking into account IFS.

As a guideline that may be good, but people who buy old Defenders buy them because they are old Defenders and for very little other reason (in my humble opinion).

Maybe a bit off topic, but I see GWM are also stepping up their game on the looks department.

This would look amazing if the body paint was another colour, trying to imagine it white with all those accessories
