Ek kyk soms daarna. Maak nooit bonnet oop

    Navara en patrol ook nooit.

Prospective Buyer wants me to test a Land Cruiser 1HZ (4.2) Diesel Engine, car has 240kkm on the clock without a FSH, so that's a fair request.

I called around, there are places that can do a Compression Test but its a HELLUVA long (labour) job, and one Guy tells me there is a risk of breaking a tip etc etc.

.........What other "tests" can I offer to do here except that Compression Test??

A pressure test, at Silverton - surely that would also help, give an idea of the radiator and top's condition??

Vehicle starts at the touch of the key, pulls great for a 1HZ, so ja......again, I understand the Request, but its just one HELSE story to do it. And assemble eveything again, what about if a tip breaks or an injector leaks after that?

    Any pointers welcome
Check how she is breathing . Pull the breather pipe at idle , should puff gently like a regular baby cough , no fuming or blue , pungent smoke.
Now increase the RPM gradually , on a new engine all breath will reduce completely to zero.
Average good engine it will increase until about 1800 rpm and then reduce to zero.
Worn engine it will increase more and more as you increase the RPM , never reducing.
