    Default And so it begins

Took my Navara for an appraisal: 2017 D23 D/C 4x4 with a towbar and Rhinoman canopy. 87,000km

I expect to get the valuation within a few hours.

At this stage, I am really keen on the new YD25 Navara LE Auto 4x4 spec.

    Either that or a 2nd hand V8 LC79.

    Let's see what happens...
    Cheers

Ek dink daardie Isuzu gaan hier rondom 800k draai vir die soortgelyke spec.

Hopeloos te veel vir wat ek wil betaal vir 'n D/C.

Can't see why not. In my life time I have had 6 Hiluxes, one of which is a current model, 3 Land Cruisers, a Fortuner and a Prado. I am now on my second Patrol and honestly, the Patrol is the better built overall compared to the Cruisers.

I think the Navara will last

You jest, but there is a silver diesel GRX Patrol driving around in town which I had my eye on for quite some time now. It is stock standard (read blank canvass) and literally driven by an old lady.

Alas, she doesn't want to sell.

It seems only the Namibian D/C Navaras will get fitted with leaf springs.

On the test drive (drove the PRO4X), the ride was not as subtle as the current coil & link setup, but it did feel more composed with the leaf springs.

The auto pulls well, but it is difficult to compare with what I have currently (manual).

No denying it, there is a sense of reliability when you hear the YD25 purring away.

There are two others on sale in Namibia at the moment, the mileage of which are too high for my liking.

A new one is faaar out of my price range.

Very nice. But you know that that silver GRX will not have (cue choirs of angels singing) Super Select. And that would be a deal breaker...

Ek verstaan so.
