    Default Solar panel repair?

During a recent trip my 100w panel was blown over, hit a small rock and shattered the glass. Its still all in one piece but only just. Are these panels repairable in any way or is it a right off? Thought it may be possible to take it to pieces and replace the glass?

You know stubborn South Africans we dont give up. In your mind you have written it of but...... I would give it a try, either replace the glass or glue the uv activated one. Nothing to lose

You're biggest problem is moisture and the way panels are made.

From a safety viewpoint, it is advisable to replace.

    But....caveat emptor

It's worth a try if you are in to that sort of thing, but IMHO it will never perform the same again.

You'll anyway have to get a new one for taking on trips, but if you get that one fixed then you can always keep it as a backup or use it for something around the house.

Not possible to repair. The photovoltaic cells are stuck to the glass with silicone sealer.

Thanks all. Think I'll see what a replacement tempered glass piece will cost, silicone it over the shattered piece, and then use it as at home as a battery charger/maintainer.
