Default Toyota Fortuner GD6 OBD Scanner

I have a 2020 model Fortuner GD6 and want to get an OBD cable and software for this vehicle.

It seems that the Toyota Techstream product is the way to go.
Any advice or suggestions on which OBD scanner to use, or is Techstream then one to get?

    Thanks

    Thanks Searcher.
Do you find that you able to access all Techstream functions for your vehicle and that they communicate/display correctly?
Also, did you have any hassles loading Techstream on your laptop/PC?
    Thanks.

The Techstream software sold by these vendors are "cracked versions" of Techstream. Many versions are available on the Web. I tried many of the 32-bit versions and they were not that great. Some of the Techstream functions were greyed out and not available.

Techstream was also quite tricky to install for the first time.

A 64-bit driver for Techstream is downloadable form Autotools. I found it much better than the 32-bit driver and most of the Techstream features are there.
My 2005 Land Cruiser's ECU is a bit dated, so does not have all the features anyway. I tested mine unit on a 2010 Fortuner yesterday and it worked great.

The 64-bit driver may or may not be a pain to install. On my earlier download attempt in 2020, Google Chrome saw the file as dangerous and blocked the download, I worked around this.
Win10 Defender then saw it as a virus and put the file in quarantine. I unquarantined the file, marked it as safe, then installed it and it worked 100%. (Before releasing the file from quarantine, I went to the origional "Authors/Crackers" forum webpage and read up on it and by his assurances and by all online replies, I satisfied myself that the file was safe enough for me to use.)

I downloaded the driver file yesterday again from Autotools (on a different PC) and Google Chrome again tried to block it, but I just overrode the warning and went ahead. I then ran the Win10 Defender virus scan on the file and got no warnings, so maybe the file has now been cleared or is less "risky" now.

Driver file download link is here: https://mega.nz/file/VFMhGSJA#I8ACH1...tL7BT8vMA_i07U

Download link is also here, but just takes you to the above link: http://autotools.co.za/product/toyot...is-techstream/

(All at own risk of course )

Either way it all works for me.

Iíve ordered the OBDll MINI-VCI J2534 OBD cable from bidorbuy. It comes with Toyota Techstream TIS V15 software on a CD - see here.
Iím not sure if it will be hassle to load.

There is one or two little quirks to get it going. But if you get stuck just ask here.
