    Default Suet feeder

I was given a commercial suet 'bucket shaped' bird feeder.

    They fought over it.

We had a bunch of lamb fat, i melted it , removed the chunks, added some peanut butter and bird seed.

I thought , This is a piece of cake.

    They WONT TOUCH IT

How do i make a 'professional' tasting suet snack for them??
Ive looked at the recipes on-line BUT is there a South African favorite?

    thanks

It takes time for birds to "find" a feeder in the beginning. Perhaps it just needs a bit more time?

The recipe i use is quite simple and works for me:

    1 cup bird sesd
    2 tbs peanut butter
    1 cup of fat/lard/drippings
    1/2 cup mielie meal
    2tbs maizena

Tip. Melt fat and peanut butter together then add all other ingredients and mix. When cool to touch make your required shape.
