    Default Which Pool Solar Heating?

    Hi

I am looking to recommission the solar pool heating system at our house.

The basics are all still in place, the pipes were capped and panels removed due to extensive damage when we moved in - I require a fitting kit which varies wildly in cost from R1k to R4k and panels.

From my research this is easily DIY'able with plenty of suppliers.

The question is which brand to go for? There appear to be three basic flavors with varying countries of origin (I am leaning heavily towards "triple" or high density panels to save space for solar panels later):
Heliocol - Apparently imported from Israel by ITS Solar (Lifetime (?) warranty/12 Year Guarentee) - R16k
HiTemp - High density panels (10 Year warranty) - R10k
    http://www.solarpoolheatingsa.co.za/ - Awaiting Quote but basically R1500/panel
Sun Command - Available form Lex Pools (5 year warranty) - Awaiting quote
Generic Spaghetti panels - Up to double density

I was surprised that I couldnt seem to find an SA manufacturer (?)

Recommendations and opinions on the above welcomed!

    Cheers

    David

P.S. The pool is 40 000l (8x4x1,25(avg)) and with a distance of 15m from pump to house with the riser requiring an addition 2.5m.

The Sun Command panels are manufactured in SA. LEX Pools is a very reputable installer.

Solid panels retain and transfer heat much better than the spaghetti type since there is no vacant space.

    Hi

Proauto Rubber sell an SA version.

    Rubber pipe type.

    https://parmegastore.com/

I had a heliocoil for years.

The panels was damaged by hail after the warrantee expired.

    Would recommend Heliocoil.

The rubber type panels give off on the inside thus blocking the tubes after a couple of years

Make sure you install enough panels.
