Red face 2004-2010 (JM) Hyundai Tucson CRDi Turbo Problems

    Hi all.

So I have come across a typical problem with the Turbo's of the First shape Hyundai Tucson CRDi's.

The turbo will eventually cut out, and the vehicle will have very low performance, like the turbo is not kicking in. Get this checked before it can cost $$$ in repairs and mechanics charging for new turbos/injectors etc.

This repair is actually very simple and costs a bottle of Paraffin.

    1. Standing in front of the vehicle, looking at the top rear of the engine, from the left hand side (which would be drivers side), there is a a rubber pipe about 30mm Diameter going from a 90 degree bend (This is connected to the centre bump of the engine). Remove the hose clamp, and pull the hose off. This pipe is mounted near the EGR valve.

    2. If you follow that pipe downwards to below the intercooler pipes, you will see a round black plastic thingy it is connected to. The is a PCV Valve. This just pops out the bugger hose below it. Pull it out with the pipe.

    3. Disconnect the pipe from this valve.

    4. Clean the valve with paraffin.

    5. Reinstall. Car will be 100% fine again.

I suggest cleaning this valve every few months depending on mileage done, to avoid any damage to the turbo.

I hope this helps all of you!
