    Default Dello mgx again

Anyone got a good deal on Dello 400 MGX in the JHB /east rand area recently
R365 at Midas Boxburg is my best so far.

Please do not waste everyone's time if you are just going to guess.

    Hi George,
Do you think you are possibly wasting someone's time with your post?

    Umm, no Roelf
I just get a bit sick of people saying things like, " Have you tried Builders" of "Have you tried Makro" usually without ever having purchased oil at those places or even knowing what Dello is.

Just trying to cut through the bulls*&t , forgive me.

Forums doing what forums do, I guess.

In 5000 Km time ( Bloody HZ motor) I will be posting a similar message just before dropping close to R800 on my oil of choice (10L). And, if I happen to find the stuff at a good price before then, I will post the details of the shop and price (after securing my stash).

It's a thing about the devoted users of Delo400. If we have to explain, you never were going to understand.

So, you are all off the hating and high horse podium for another 4 to 6 months. Enjoy and dream up some good responses to my next post.

    Midas sells a 15W40 that is R180/5l

Filled by the same people who make Caltex Delo. Thus a Caltex oil. Since you change every 5000km, you should be fine

Anyway that we could be 100% sure that this is the case?? You are the second person to mention this.
Ja, I have often wondered if my insistence on the real Dello deal is not pushing it a bit considdering the 5000KM changes. Still my old bus has to get old with me, so it's probably still worth it.

I just happen to have an old Makro advert on the workbench soaking up some spilled chainsaw oil and see they had Delo 400 on special at R 269 in May 2017 so I guess the current Midas price quoted in post #1 is not unreasonable.

While we are on the subject of DELO,does anyone know if it is available in 20 litre "drums". I email Caltex directly more than once but never received a reply?

Go to your local caltex and ask them where they get their oil supply from..its either their branded marketer or a private company. They should stock them in the bigger sizes and often you can buy directly from the supplier

Years ago (previous Pajero) I bought 20l drums from their depot.
In those days the depots were called 'Starlube' - dunno today.
