Default Jeep patriod gearbox rattling sound

    Hi guys

    I need help please

I have a jeep patriod 2.4 limited manual transmisiion that makes a rattling sound in the gearbox only when cold, it sounds like a bad bearing. The sound comes from the 2 outer bearings on the outside of the gearbox where the two outside beaarings sit behind a little cover.

The sound is thes same as a bad bearing eith bad rollers but as soon as its warm the sound goes away.

After much research and googling and having a gearbox specialist listen and feel the sound and the plate on the side he also confirmed its the two outer bearings on the shafts of the gearbox.

Ok had that replaced, drove a week and same thing, they removed the box again an we now replaced the two bearings inside the gearbox aswell. R14000 later, they put the gearbox in and still when cold it has that "bad bearing" sound but when warm its guiet. They ooened the gearbox again and cannit find anything faulty or worn, no shavings nothing.

    Release bearing is fine also.

The sound also goes away when pressing the clutch in and sounds again when tthe clutch is released. Until warm then there is no sound.

Any one else had this problem maybe and have any advise or resolution for this problem?

Cannot spend any more money on nothing.

Your insights will be greatly appreciatted

Flywheel spigot bearing, also called a pilot bush or bearing. Stops the input shaft from flopping around.
