    Default Solid Front Axle & Gearboxes

    Greetings, have done some research, but no solid front answers.

    Solid Front Axle-SFA
    Manual Gear Box-MGB
    Auto Gear Box-AGB

    Focusing on SFA only and Factory specs:
    Land Cruisers in the past and present have SFA have MGB.
    Defenders & Patrols the same.
    Wrangler and Jimny have MGB & AGB Options.

    Thoughts on why the bigger vehicles don't come out with a factory AGB option?
    Less is more? More rugged? Forced to grow a beard, light a camel and feel the vehicle the way it should be?

    Cheaper manufacturing costs.

    Disco 1 and 2 and the P38 Range Rovers had SFA and AGBs

    EDIT: Customer preference/perception might also play a role, note the manual vs auto debate.

    Patrols have had Auto's for a very long time

    So has some LC (Land Cruiser) like the 105
