    Default Battery recommendations - please

The auxiliary battery in the back of the Jeep needs replacing.
The current battery is a Deltec 105ah.
I'm not sure if I should get another Deltec and was wondering if you guys could share some advice and recommendations.

I probably also need to invest in a smart charger so would very much appreciate advice on that too.

Look, I have tried doing the research and am now even more muddled; you have

    Semi deep cycle R2,500
    Agm R5,000

    Big difference!

Then someone suggested just going with a high cycle and using driving to charge the battery as it charges quicker, but we won't be driving all the time.

I have a CTEK 250S assuming this helps with faster charging?

I truly wish someone would create a Sticky on batteries, I could certainly use it right about now.

If you are prepared to service (top up electrolyte) and the battery is in a proper box, you cannot get more robust than this:

    https://www.dixonbatteries.co.za/105...wh-327x170x240
Donít blame yourself over past mistakes. Itís like driving down the N1 while looking in the rear view mirror only.

Here is your starter. - The CTEK 250S is going to help you fast charge just about any battery. Most certainly faster and better than with no CTEK 250S.

    Now get yourself either.

A battery center starter battery for R2500.

    or

A decent Deep Cycle Solar battery for R4500

    or

A Second Life Lithium battery for R5000

    or

A New Lithium battery for R8500

You will live with any of them, and be happy, till it dies and you replace it.

My choice would be - bite the bullet, get the BlueNova Lithium on special on this forum somewhere for about R8500 or less, or maybe this one at R5400.

Thanks Dungbettle, appreciate the link. That make has come across my radar while looking at different types. Servicing it could be done when the Jeep is serviced.

    Someone also mentioned Willard.

It seems that ordering a new battery is quite a drawn out process as so many people have reduced staff or have staff working off site, apparently an week to 10 days to get a battery unless you are in one of the larger cities/towns, which I am not.

I went through this thought process a couple of months back.

I eventually bit the bullet and purchased a blue nova off the forum. R8000, including courier. Its done two shorter trips so far. Very happy with it.

Forgot about them. Probably my favorite underdog.
