Default Newly purchased 2009 Toyota Hilux 4x4. Accessories needed

    Hi 4x4 Community

I recently purchased a 2009 Toyota Hilux D/C 4x4. I'm looking for the following (If you guys can advise, new or 2nd hand)
    - Steel front bumper
    - Rock sliders
    - 17 or 18 inch mag and tyre combos

Is anyone running 18' mags on their Hilux bakkies?

    Everything is a hammer.
Unless it is a screw driver.

    Then it it a chisel.

I assume the 18" is for the looks.

What wrong with the current 16"?

I've fitted an Ironman suspension. Van looks a bid odd with the current 16" rims and tyres. Need something bigger

The overall wheel size, with standard tyres, are the same for 16, 17 and 18 rims. As the rims get bigger, the tyre sidewalls get smaller. So whichever rim you get, you will need to fit higher profile tyres if you want to "fill" the wheel arches.
What is the most likely use of your bakkie? If it gets off the tar regularly, my advice would be to keep the 16 rims and to fit 75 profile tyres.
If you do mostly tar and highway, then maybe go 17 rims with 70 profile tyres.
My last two cars came standard with 18 rims and I didn't like the low-profile tyres in the rough. You don't really gain much by deflating. I changed to 16" rims with 265/75 tyres at the first tyre replacement on my current car. I'm very happy with my choice. I attach a pic - you'll have to guess which Chev is mine :-)
Also, get quotes on the different tyre sizes. You may be surprised how much less you can pay for 16" tyres.Name: 20200319_115821.jpg

I agree, unless you don't plan to go off road at all stay with 16" or 17" and just go up on profile.
