Default Kgalagadi Camps - One vehicle Maximum?

We are going off to Kgalagadi in a couple of weeks, and my wife was told telephonically today while booking that there is a strict limit of One vehicle per campsite. As far as I know, it has always been two. Can any recent visitor shed any light on this?

We have been there with two vehicles per site and had no problems.
    Space is not an issue.
Maybe what they referring to about a single car is that if there is a 2nd, you pay an additional charge. I don't know the amount but it's not much.

Two years ago we had 2 vehicles. The booking confirmation said a 2nd car will raise an extra fee.

When I asked how much extra that would be, I was told it is not an issue, we won't be charged for a second vehicle. No one came and checked or asked us about a second vehicle in any of the camps.

It is also virtually impossible to check, as cars park everywhere to stay out of the sun, and move constantly. Who will know which car is attached to which campsite. At night when most staff are off duty, will be the only time to check on this anyway.

I think it is in the rules so they can ask or instruct people to pay extra or to move or remove their cars if they cause problems, like overcrowding in campsites. Who knows whose cars those are that are parked at pools, shops, or at the hides inside rest camp fences.

I think they realise it is impossible to police, that is why I was not charged for an extra vehicle on our campsites.

Do not mention it when booking now, only ask about paying for the extra vehicle when you book into the individual rest camps.

That is the max allowed in any and all Botswana National Parks. Those are not SANPARKS numbers

Thank you to all who took an interest. My wife has made contact with a different individual at SANPARKS, who confirmed the 2 vehicle, 6 people rule.

We were told 2x vehicles and even 2x trailers/caravans per site as long as the max people do not exceed 6 and the site is big enough to accomodate 2x trailers/caravans. Had no issue when we were there Dec 2019. Also were not charged for 2nd vehicle and van.

    Hi Peter Betts,
I already apologise as I was thinking of the camp sites in Botswana side.
I agree with the amount in SANPARKS sites though.
