    Default Accommodation recommendations Groblersbrug—Serowe

    Hi all

Possibly heading up to Ngamiland soon.

I just wanted to hear of any good overnight options these days, haven't travelled that route for a while. Have not heard good things Re; Khama Rhino recently, but stand to be corrected.

Preferably camping or simple chalet. Clean, quiet and remote preferable.

    Thanks in advance...

    Google Lentswe Lodge Serowe.
Clean reasonably priced chalets on a hill in Serowe.
Two hours from Groblersbrug and a good base to visit Khama.

    Hi Hatspruiter,
Would be interested to know what you heard about Khama?

    Thanks Ron. This looks unique.

Any other favourites. Can be anywhere in between the border and Serowe, and 50kms on either side.

There just seems to be a lack of enthusiasm for KRS accommodation in recent reviews and comments.

We stayed there a lot when it first came on the scene in the mid-90s and it was always great, but have been taking other routes recently. With some of the border posts closed on those routes, checked on KRS accommodation again, and was mostly met with comments about the units being tired, disinterested staff, etc. Obviously, I take all online comments with a pinch of salt, but it just seemed to be a trend.

Happy to be enlightened by recent visitors though, if this is not the case at the moment.

(And this was specifically accommodation, rather than the reserve itself).

Khama Rhino Sanctuary chalets are indeed tired, and the campsite ablutions leave a lot to be desired although they're generally clean enough. However in my opinion being in the bush more than makes up for this. The issue a lot of people have with KRS using it as a stop-over is that park entry fees are applicable and if they arrive late and leave early without having time for a game drive people feel it is a bit of a waste of money
