    Default Flat water hose

I am looking for a flat roll up water hose that I can use to fill my Bushlapa water tank.
I have Google this with no results. Can't believe it!
    Where can I get one?
    What is the ideal length?

    Thanks

Did you google Layflat ? Seems like you can order off Takealot.

Im not sure if you are trying to be funny, or genuinely posted this without reading it through……

that hose is full of little holes, it’s basically a long flat sprinkler….. not exactly what the op was asking for.

to the OP, Outdoor Wharehouse used to sell them. Can’t remember the brand, bought mine years ago. It’s a canvas type of hose, with quality brass fittings.

No I did not try to be funny. Sorry. I got a similar one from them a year ago. Just saw the pic and assumed it is the same one.

Now I will have to do a proper search!

I cannot find what I bought a few years back. The closest I came is this but mine was not this expensive.

I bought an expandable hose a while ago. I prefer it over the layflat but you need water pressure from a tap for it to expand properly. Gravity feed from e.g. a rooftop tank does not provide enough pressure.
It contracts really small afterwards and is really light. YMMV

I took one along on our trip to the Serengeti to fill trailer water tank, and it was a schlep, you need proper water pressure to get all the folds and wrinkles expanded, and none of the taps we could find with running water up North had any meaningful pressure.

That said, none of their taps had a thread for a garden type fitting on either, fitting a hose was a makeshift effort.

R250.00 Would be an excellent price for the flat hose.

In the meantime, I am selling my used Flat, roll up hose for R 200.00, if you are interested.

I have one of those and have used it for many years.
It's excellent, except that sometimes it's not long enough.

If you make a noise or need music in the bush or on the beach, you’re missing the point.

When we started camping I also looked all over for one, then found what I thought was the perfect hose, a Gardena sprinkler hose. My first try revealed that this hose was full of tiny holes and very little water was tranferred to the end where I needed it. So I wrote Gardena an e-mail and complained profusely about the hose full of holes, wondering who on earth will need such a useless piece of garden irrigation equipment.

Well, they sent me an appology letter and explained very nicely what my hose was intended for, and then included a flat roll up hose of 20m, free of charge. What a lovely piece of kit that is, and been going for over 8years now.

Saw them on a website similar to loot and takealot couple of years ago again, and bought another one for those camps where the taps is just to far. This one I paid for and was just on R900 with all the import and courier cost.
