    Default Flexible Solar Panels

    Can our readers please advise on the most cost effective of the flexible solar panels? We have two solid 150w solar panels which work very well but they are large, heavy, and need a roof rack to carry them.
    I know that flexible cost a lot more than solid but think its worth investigating.

    IMHO, for our applications they are all much of a muchness. Compare Flexopower vs Snomaster vs Jackery vs 4x4Direct.co.za and see which unit gives you the most watt for your dollar:

    Jackery = ZAR54.99/Watt
    Flecopower = ZAR 56,08/Watt
    Snomaster = ZAR 54.99/Watt
    4x4Dirrect = ZAR 37.91

    Are you referring to semi flexible panels like this

    Or foldable panels or a solar blanket?

    I'm actually looking for the fold up panels, maybe even the suitcase type, just to take up less packing space.
    Are fold ups any less efficient than the case and one piece solid types?

    You have 2 panels that gives 300w if you want 300w in suitcase you will need 3 suitcases of 100w that is 2x50w to make up one suitcase.
    Any bigger will be the same you have now.

    I cant remember where or when I heard it, but someone was once talking about flexible solar panels and that theyre alot more inefficient, something to do with the difficulty of setting them up to face the sun properly without them folding over themselves, falling over etc. so they never face as nice and open and direct that a solid panel will do.

    I dunno, it made sense to me at the time anyway.
