Default Allister Coetzee appointed as head coach

Of the Welwitschias (on a consultancy basis till the finalisation of his appointment).

Is this a step up or down for him?
    Cheers

Step up for his coaching CV
Step down from the coaching setup and resources he had at the Canon Eagles

I reckon he should be glad he isn't coaching the Windhoek High second team.

From what I can recall a few pundits described his game plan with the Boks as a few years ahead of its time. I'll see if I can find the video.

I think I will always have some reservations about the current "bash-first-receiver" kind of rugby played in SA and NAM - I think a fast paced game will suit the Namibians.

I guess it will boil down to whether our guys have the talent to implement it - (I think they do have what it takes).

For now, I will find a comfy spot on the fence.

He is a character - I'll give you guys that.

But SARU really did not make it easy for him those two years and Rassie got way more leeway than he did.

I don't think he is the worlds greatest coach, but he is not bad either.

I guess working with a mostly amateur squad will certainly be the litmus test on his coaching abilities.

He never managed to do anything at WP either till Gert Smal arrived. He's better than P Divvy but that's also not saying much.
