Default Scorpio SUV 4X4 Dual Battery Cabling

The time has come for us to say goodbye the the finest vehicle we've ever had, The trusty Cruiser 80!
As I am getting a bit long in the tooth (me, not the Bruzer) for serious offroad trailing, but still pull the caravan around the countryside, we've bought a 2021 Mahindra Scorpio S11 c/w Bundu Gear front & rear bumpers and rock-sliders and only 6k km on the clock.
I am going to make a drawer system in the back with a DC battery box & controller etc and would like to know if anyone has done anything similar on the SUV and where to route the 16mm˛ cables from the main vehicle battery.

Done similar with my 2014 Scorpio flat deck, I just put the cable in that protector coil you can buy, then cable tied it along underneath as best I could trying to tuck into whatever was the safest place. That was several years ago and no issues.

That's pretty much what I was thinking of doing as the two cables are too thick to run inside under the door sills.
I'll probably have to drill a couple of holes to get it through to the boot space & use grommets.

Congrats on the purchase. I am sure you will be happy. :-)

On my Thar, I use a DC-DC charging system so I got away with thinner cables for my install. This allowed me to come thru the firewall of the engine bay to get into the cab. My second battery is installed behind the drivers seat in the rear of the vehicle.

    Good luck with the build.

    Thanks Eric,
Yes, we are falling in love with the Curry Cruiser already.
I will be installing a DC battery box with all the sockets etc and a WRND DC-DC-Solar controller so will be using 16mm˛ cable.
This will run the 21lt Engel and 50lt Waeco which will be mounted into a sliding system in the boot.

    Hi Steamer

I just bought my Scorpio also. I came from a jimny and I am loving space and new power. Also looking at doing a drawer system.

That bundu front bumper. Did you have to change the suspension?

    sorry for derailing thread.
there is no need to change suspension for Bundu.

i did found it to be more bouncy, like driving at 30kph over speed bump,
car goes 4-5 times up and down before it settles.
this is sorted with small adjustment on torsion bars(25mm).
    now only one bounce.

at a rear extra weight of Bundu did absolutely nothing to smoother hard ride.
    this i solved with load-hog

this is for pick up which should be more or less same as scorpio in suspension department.

Answered above. I am going to measure the sag on the back when I install the drawer system as I also tow a caravan.
Maybe a load hog will be required.

By the way, the 16mm˛ double cable fits beautifully through the cabin under the carpet & door sills. Can't see it as there is a cable depression that runs through.
