As long as it's white I'm fine.

It's the coolest in terms of cabin temps, shows dirt and scratches the least and also the least prone to paint failure. Also very easy to touch up the paint work.

We have had customers who would rather wait 2 months for a spefific colour and take a price increase instead of taking what we have

My first choice is white as was mentioned, because it is the coolest colour temperature wise and does not show scratches that easily. Practical colour to keep clean as well.

The Cruisers look very nice in Kalahari sand, but I also like a bakkie for use in the bush, in Avocado green (like the old Natal Parks Board vehicles).

Had metallic coloured vehicles before, but will never buy one again. Same with red.

I will not even considre a black and charcoal coloured vehicle.

Anything but white, silver or black. Prefer bright colours like red, blue and yellow.

A lot of interesting replies. Thanks

I'd like to add that I enjoyed my black Jeep. Had it when some of the blue light brigades used SUV's as part of their convoy.

Between Jo'burg and Petroosdorp I used to fell in behind them, which allowed for a speedy move. Only stayed briefly, but I enjoyed it

As for my yellow choice I noticed that it is quite visible when travelling out in the country. Often saw these bright yellow logistics vehicles (not DHL). You can see them from a serious distance.

I do however agree that certain colors belong to certain vehicles. Like a red Ferrari and a yellow Lamborghini.

Bush stripes - who cares. Not me, because it tells a story.

I will not buy ugly color.

I was told about a month ago how bloke had white bakkies and they were stolen. He changed to red and nobody will touch such.

It would be interesting to get the numbers from the insurance companies.

If I were the criminal I would only steal white cars. You immediately blend in with at least 60% of vehicles around you. And if you focus on Rangers and Hiluxes they will never find you without a tracker.

EXCEPT for red. I wont even look at a red car. When I was a lighty (passenger) I was in three car crashes, all those cars were red.
Its my one and only superstition.

I dont even wear red clothes cos of that

    Not a superstition at all

red being a difficult color to see has more to do with your eyes

there are less red sensors on your peripheral vision
so your red car car will be almost invisible on the edge of your vision until it moves into the middle of your field of view.

Wow, most of you are colour blind. White is not a colour. Choosing white is normally the cheapest option when buying new. Common. Boring. Obviously the most popular option here though.

I have owned two white vehicles, not of of choice, but what was available - loved both cars.

True about white being a popular vehicle to hijack/steal - it blends in nicely with the majority out there.

Also true about being visible. Grey is a terrible colour on the roads. Silver is not much better. Swambo's FL2 is silver, which I also love. But lights are always switched on when mobile which makes it more visible than a white car without lights.

Any variation of cloud/ tar colours have visibility issues from black, charcoal, grey, silver. I find it interesting though that only silver car drivers have that awareness. You hardly see any of the other colours driving with lights on. Some people really have an immense desire to die young.

I think the aspect or looks of some vehicles are better in some colours than others.

Otherwise, not too perturbed and have bought a vehicles that have been available regardless of colour, purely because I wasnt prepared to wait for a preference.

I'm not fussed about color as long as it is silver, gray or white.

since I buy second hand I dont have much choice in colour, for me getting the right spec at the right price is more important that colour.

I dont like white cars and have only ever owned one and what amazed me was how well white concealed dirt. The audi is black (to be accurate really really really dark blue) and it looks dirty 10s after you washed it

    My previous car colours:
car 1 = orange (yes, really, 'cause it was an old 1960-something Datsun sedan) :-D
car 2 = dark blue (hated it as it showed dirt a lot, felt hotter in summer, and with an accident caused by someone else, was a total pain to retouch as they could not match it properly)
car 3 = beige (hadn't a choice, was last car in stock, so had to take it)
car 4 = green (more lime-green, due to age)
car 5 = yellow (was originally ex-SAPS car)
    car 6 = white
    car 7 = white
car 8 = black (wife's car, when I married her)
car 9 = silver (had some accidents caused by others but easily fixed with paint-fixing litterally perfect).
car 10 = oyster silver (current one)

Colour was not a factor when reselling it, in fact, I sold my coloured cars faster than the whites! :-D

I feel the colour adds some personality to it, as well as helping me find it easier in the parking lot!
My car #10 (Ranger) is oyster-silver which looks more gold (than brownish-silver) in direct sunlight.

If I had to choose, with next few vehicles, I will always go for those with a lighter colour paint than a dark one, as it is easier to fix, as well to distinguish from the rest of other vehicles.
